News channels have used it rather well — to firstly engage with their social media-savvy (mainly Twitter) viewership and importantly, use it as a medium to slyly pass off their opinions.The year began rather peacefully with just the #BreakingNow and a couple of stray hashtags here and there. But as we went along, it clearly spiralled out of control.
