Aruvi, which deals with a socially relevant subject, will hit the silver screens on December 1. Touted to be an eco socio-drama, the film has Aditi Balan, Lakshmi Gopalswami and Shwetha Shekar playing the lead roles. Directed by Arun Prabu Purushothaman, the film is produced by SR Prakashbabu and SR Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures.

Bindhu Malini and Vedanth Bharadwaj have composed the tunes for this flick with Kutty Revathy penning the lyrics. Shelley Calist is wielding the camera and Raymond Derrick Crasta editing it. Director Arun Prabu Purushothaman is an erstwhile associate of director KS Ravi Kumar, it may be noted here.

Aditi Balan, who plays the lead role is a lawyer by profession and will be making her acting debut with this flick. Shwetha Shekar, on the other hand, is an accomplished singer, dancer and theatre artiste who has worked in a number of short films and ads. However, Aruvi will be her first feature film.

While Aruvi will be hitting the silver screens on December 1, it will have to compete at the box office with three other films – Sasi Kumar’s Kodi Veeran, Vijay Anthony’s Anna Durai and Thiruttu Payalae 2 starring Bobby Simha, Amala Paul and Prasanna, which are gearing up for release on November 30.

On getting to watch Aruvi earlier, Siva Karthikeyan had tweeted, “Watched spl screening of ‘ #Aruvi a film from debutant Dir @thambiprabu89..Grt team work, well-made film with all emotions..casting & acting wer brilliant esp d lead actress Aditi Balan. Movie wil release soon pls watch it in theatres & support Tis young talented team (sic).”

One of the producers of the film, SR Prakash Babu had said that when the director narrated him the story of Aruvi first, he couldn’t it out of his mind for over a week. Well, that sums up the high expectations on this flick.
