If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Sivakarthikeyan and director Vignesh Shivn are likely to join hands very soon. For a long time, a project in this combination has been in the pipeline and earlier this year there were reports that Studio Green will bankroll the film.

Vignesh Shivn had said that he was keenly looking forward to working with Siva. “Even before Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, I had narrated a different script to him. But at that time he was busy with Maan Karate and other films, and even I got busy with some other work. Now, I think everything is coming together. We are in talks, the script discussion is on and an official announcement will come soon,” Vignesh was quoted by Hindustan Times.

However, in March, Studio Green roped in director Rajesh M for a project with Siva and rumors made the rounds that their film with Vignesh Shivn was dropped. Months later, reports have emerged that Siva and Vignesh will join hands for a new project, which will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

Neither the makers nor Vignesh and Siva have officially commented on the project yet. Since the release of Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Kootam, Vignesh hasn’t signed his next project and reliable sources confirm that the delay has been for Siva’s project to finally fall into place.

Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently shooting a science-fiction film with director Ravi Kumar, also has a film with Irumbu Thirai filmmaker PS Mithran. According to a source close to Siva, his project with Mithran will roll after Pongal 2019.

“Right now, Siva is simultaneously working on two projects and it’s taking a toll on him. Not just physically, but mentally as well. He’s never worked on two projects at the same time.  He wants to work on Mithran’s project with no other commitment to worry about,” the source said. It has to be seen when Siva will find time to Vignesh’s film.
