Sivakarthikeyan in talks with financiers to resume his science-fiction with director Ravikumar

Sivakarthikeyan’s Namma Veetu Pillai is scheduled to hit the silver screens on September 27. It is an action-comedy written and directed by Pandiraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures. It may be noted here that Sivakarthikeyan made his acting debut with the Pandiraj directorial Marina in 2012 and again teamed up with him in Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga. This is their third outing together.

With this film getting ready for release soon, we hear that Sivakarthikeyan’s other untitled film a science-fiction directed by Ravikumar will be revived. Ravikumar has been working on the film’s pre-production for over a year now and the film had to be put in the cold storage since the makers ran into financial troubles.

Reports are that Sivakarthikeyan is sorting out the problem with the financiers and it will start rolling soon. Touted to be a science fiction, the shooting of this film is scheduled to begin in November. Rakul Preet Singh will be playing Sivakarthikeyan’s lead pair in it.  It is being rumored that she plays the role of an astronomer in the film which is gearing up for release next year.

In Namma Veetu Pillai, Sivakarthikeyan plays the male lead, Anu Emmanuel and Aishwarya Rajesh are his heroines. The supporting cast includes directors Bharathiraja, Samuthirakani, Natraj, Soori, and Yogi Babu. The technical crew of this film includes D Imman for music, while cinematography and editing is handled by Nirav Shah and Ruben respectively.

Reportedly, Aishwarya Rajesh is playing the hero’s sister in the film. Explaining what made her take up the role when she is a well-known heroine in the Tamil film industry, Aishwarya Rajesh said that she was impressed with how director Pandiraj had etched out the role.

The actor has said that she has always been open to roles that gave her scope to exhibit her acting skills and this is one such role. Apparently, Anu Emmanuel plays Sivakarthikeyan’s love interest in the film.
