Actor Simbu, who was last seen on screen in Sundar C’s Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, is all set to commence work on his much-awaited political thriller Manaadu with director Venkat Prabhu.
It’s been nearly 10 months since it was first announced that Prabhu and Simbu will join hands for a project and since then there’s been no major development. Rumours made the rounds that Manaadu will go on the floors in October 2018, but for reasons unknown, the project never took off.
In April, reports emerged that the project has been shelved and Prabhu has moved on to his next commitment. However, producer Suresh Kamatchi took to Twitter and clarified that the project has not been dropped and will go to set soon.
Request to stop the Rumours that the movie is been dropped. It is not that easy to start a movie as u stop it by your silly Rumour

Simbu recently returned from London after shedding a lot of weight in preparation for his role in the film. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised shortly. It’s worth mentioning that Prabhu had planned to work with Simbu for a long time. However, things never fell in place as both of them were caught up with their commitments.
Meanwhile, Simbu will begin shooting for the Tamil remake of Kannada blockbuster Mufti from next month onwards. This project, to be directed by Narthan, also stars Gautham Karthik and will be bankrolled by Studio Green.
The original starred Shivrajkumar, Muralist, Shanvi Srivastav and Chaya Singh. The film will be centered on a police officer, played by Srimurali, who goes head to head with an underworld boss, played by Shivrajkumar. Apparently, Simbu will be seen playing the underworld boss and Gautham Karthik will don khaki for the first time in the role of a police officer.
