Simbu asks fans not to worry about 'Red Card', says his Pongal release is on

While saying that 'Vantha Rajava Thaan Varuven' would release for Pongal, Simbu also requested his fans to not target a particular person.

Over the past couple of days, many Silambarasan fans have been posting videos, defending their star and outraging about the treatment meted out to him. This furore was kicked up following news that the star’s upcoming film, Vandha Rajava Thaan Varuven’s Pongal release was running into trouble due to the Producers' Council’s intervention.

The Producers' Council, headed by actor Vishal, had issued Simbu a red card last year, following complaints of the actor not turning up for shoots on time. Simbu, however, went on to act in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam despite this.

To appease his agitated fans, Simbu wrote down his “vehement request” in a press statement. In it, he assures his fans that “no one person” can take a decision to sideline him or his fans and that he will be pursuing the issue with the Council directly.

“My vehement request to my dearest fans and admirers! Please do not worry about the recent happenings in the industry. No one person can take a decision to sideline us. Any decision taken will always be a decision by group of members and council and we will ensure it gets resolved to our best,” he wrote.

Simbu also requested his fans to not target any particular person and to always spread love. “Don’t get anxious and target any particular person. Always spread love. Thank you for your constant and unwavering love and support as usual. #NengaillamaNaanilla Let us all do our duty and the results will be automatic. No matter what we will fight out and come for Pongal! #PongalukkuVarom #VRV #STR,” the statement read.

Simbu, who does not maintain a Twitter account, has been making his comments via his press statements. Recently, he congratulated Dhanush for Vada Chennai and requested his fans to support the release.

Simbu’s next, helmed by director Sundar C, Vantha Rajava Thaan Varuven, is nearing its completion. This film is the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Attarintikki Daredi, starring Pawan Kalyan. Actor Ramya Krishnan will be reprising the role done by Nadiya in the original.

While rumours that Simbu will be part of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 are currently doing the rounds, his team, however, has said that they’d be the happiest if it were true.
