The first schedule of the Tamil movie, starring Simbu and Gautham Karthik, has been wrapped up successfully. Gautham Karthik had tweeted confirming this with the post, “And that's a schedule wrap! Time to go home, relax and plan our next schedule and get back to work asap! ” He also posted a pic with Simbu and wrote, “No matter, heavy winds, scorching heat, pouring rain or dust clouds, all of which we faced today. We keep on moving forward, always forward. Under the direction of #Narthan sir, the Show goes on!”

This untitled film is the remake of the hit Kannada movie Mufti. Director Narthan, who had directed the original version, is directing the remake as well. Simbu will be playing a gangster in this flick with Gautham Karthik appearing as a cop.

Shiva Rajkumar’s Mufti turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters in Sandalwood. Released on December 1 last year, the film garnered positive reviews. It had collected Rs. 15 crore in just five days and the collections went up with good word of mouth. Mufti was produced by Jayanna under his banner Jayanna Combines. While the film starred Shiva Rajkumar in an important role, it's lead actors were Sriimurali and Shanvi Srivastava.

Sources say that Srimurali is contemplating on going for a sequel and the modalities of this are being worked out, but it is too early to speculate if there would be a sequel for the film.

The star cast also included Vasishta N. Simha, Devaraj, Chaya Singh, Sadhu Kokila, Prakash Belawadi, and Chikkanna. Ravi Basrur had composed music for this flick with the cinematography handled by Naveen Kumar.

Mufti was high on the action quotient and had all the elements to attract family audiences as well.
