Ravi Teja’s film with director Gopichand Malineni is progressing well with the groundwork happening right now. According to reports, Shruti Haasan has been finalised as the heroine for the project. Confirming the news, Shruti Haasan posted on Twitter sharing her excitement on working in a new Telugu film: “Very excited to be a part of this project !! And to be working with @RaviTeja_offl and @megopichand again !!! #RT66.”

The film, which has not been titled yet, will tentatively be referred to as RT 66. Gopichand is planning it as a complete entertainer. Another interesting fact about the film is that Ravi Teja will be seen playing a cop.

It may be noted here that Shruti Haasan was out of the film circuit for a couple of years as she was busy with her music career. She came on board for Sundar C’s magnum opus Sangamithra, which was planned as a trilingual in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and launched amidst a lot of fanfare at the Cannes International Film Festival. But later she walked out of the project saying that she was not given the full script as promised when accepting the offer.

On the other hand, Ravi Teja is busy with the release of Disco Raja. The film is gearing up for release next month. Vi Anand is wielding the megaphone for this entertainer. According to reports, Disco Raja is a science fiction film. Three leading ladies – Nabha Natesh, Payal Rajput and Priyanka Jawalkar – have been roped in to share screen space with Ravi Teja. Allari Naresh will also be seen in an important role in the film. The makers are planning to release the film during the Christmas holidays. Ravi Teja also has Maha Samudram in his kitty. The film is directed by Ajai Bhupathi with Aditi Rao Hydari roped in to play the female lead. The groundwork for this project is on.
