Shraddha Srinath will be playing Udhayanidhi Stalin’s lead girl in his upcoming film. To be directed by PS Mitran, the film is touted to be a thriller. On bagging the role, Shraddha is reported to have told that the script impressed her so much that she agreed to hop onboard. While this project is yet to take off, director PS Mitran is giving the finishing touches to the Vishal – Samantha starrer with which he will be making his directorial debut.

Though Shraddha made her debut with the Malayalam film Kohinoor, it was for her first Kannada movie U Turn that she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada and SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Kannada. She caught the attention of director Mani Ratnam and bagged a role in Kaatru Veliyidai in which she shared the screen space with Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari.

On doing films of her choice, Shraddha has said in an interview to the Bengaluru Times that she is more interested in roles that give her scope to perform rather than appearing as mere arm candy to the heroes. Her roles in the Kannada movie Operation Alamelamma and in the Tamil films Vikram Vedha and Richie make the actor’s choices clear.

She is currently busy with a couple of Kannada movies including Shadibhagya and Godhra and will then move over to the Udhayanidhi Stalin starrer.

Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi will be working in the Maheshinte Prathikaaram remake, titled as Nimir. The film is being directed by Priyadarshan and stars Namitha Pramod and Parvathi Nair as the female leads. Ace director J Mahendran has been roped to play a pivotal role in the film. Nimir is being produced by Santosh T Kurivilla under his banner Moonshot Entertainment. A major portion of the film will be shot in Tenkasi with a short schedule planned in Dubai.
