Vijay’s 63rd film which has not been titled yet ran into trouble with a short film director Shiva claiming the story to be his. He had directed a short film based on women’s football and claimed that Atlee’s upcoming film with Vijay is based on the same premise and very similar to his storyline.

Earlier, Shiva had approached the Writers’ Union with his complaint but the Union refused to interfere stating that according to their rules, they cannot entertain it as his membership was less than six months.

Following this, Shiva has taken this issue to the court of law. He has filed a complaint seeking a stay on this film, tentatively known as Vijay 63. Director Atlee, production house AGS Entertainment and the Writers’ Union will be the defendants in this plaint. The case has been posted for further hearing on April 23.

It may be noted that a similar issue cropped during the making of the Vijay starrer Sarkar. Even then the Writers’ Union refused to interfere but veteran filmmaker and actor K Bagyaraj supported Varun, who had alleged that the story belonged to him. Bagyaraj also went to court to substantiate his claim that the story belonged to Varun and later resigned from the Writers Union.

Vijay 63, as it is tentatively known, has Nayanthra playing the female lead. AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the tunes for this flick, which is bankrolled by AGS Entertainments. GK Vishnu is cranking the camera with Anthony L Ruben being signed up for editing.

Besides the lead pair Vijay and Nayanthara, the star cast also includes Kathir, Daniel Balaji, Yogi Babu, Sai Dheena, Vivek, Anandraj and others.

Apparently a sports drama, the film will have Vijay playing a football coach. Sources in the know say that around 16 debutants have been roped in to play football players in this flick.
