The shooting of the Ram Pothineni starrer iSmart Shankar began recently and is progressing well. Sharing the news along with a poster on a social media, Ram wrote, “isssssshhhtttaaarrtttt camera! From today! #iSmartShankar. Actor Charmee, who is bankrolling the project under her banner posted, “Shoot istart #ismartshankar. Massive schedule begins from today.. aiming for May release. @ramsayz @purijagan @puriconnects #PCfilm,” confirming it. Wielding the megaphone for it will be Puri Jagannath.

The technical crew of this film includes Mani Sharma for music and Raj Thota for cinematography. The film’s star cast also includes Puneeth Issar, Sathya Dev, Milind Gunaji, Ashish vidyarthi, Get-up Srinu, Sudanshu Pandey, Madhu Singampalli, Kuldeep Singh and Deepak Shetty. However, the team is yet to sign up a female lead and the hunt is on.

Ram’s look in the film has been unveiled and looks massy. The star is seen sporting a spiky hairdo with beard. His jeans, shirt and gun-wielding style has the movie buffs wondering what’s in store.

Earlier, there were reports that Puri Jagannath is getting a script ready for a movie with the Arjun Reddy star Vijay Devarakonda. But with the star busy with his various assignments, the director has decided to move over to direct Ram Pothineni first.

Ram’s last release was Hello Guru Perma Kosame, which was directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina and produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. It was made on a budget of Rs. 1.5 crore and has managed to collect Rs. 20 crore at the box office following good reviews and word of mouth. Devi Sri Prasad composed music for this venture with Vijay K. Chakravathy cranking the camera. The star cast included Anupama Parameswaran as his lead pair with Prakash Raj, Pranitha Subhash, Amani, Sithara, Jayaprakash, Posani Krishna Murali, Praveen and Ram Prasad in supporting roles.
