The trailer of Dorasani was unveiled by director Sukumar and has managed to get the attention of the film buffs. From the trailer, it is evident that it is a love story delving on class disparities. The heroine is a Dorasani named Devika while the hero is a painter name Raju. It is their love story and how they suffer due to caste oppression. The trailer begins with Raju narrating his love story after being jailed for well over thirty years.

Star kid Shivatmika, daughter of Rajasekar and Jeevitha, and Anand Deverakonda, brother of Vijay Deverakonda, are pairing up for Dorasani. Shivatmika plays the title role in this film which is about the daughter of a landlord, known as ‘Dora’ in Telugu.

On the film, debutant director KVR Mahendra said, “A young dorasani named Devaki, who’s the daughter of a dora (landlord), lives in a suppressed world that she yearns to break free from. Her life changes, for better or worse, when she dares to fall in love with a commoner named Raju, son of a labourer. Unfortunately for them, the world they live in is not yet ready to accept their love.”

Dorasani is a romantic tale set in the 1980s. On choosing Shivatmika for the role, the director had told in an interview to the Times of India, “It took me three years and eight months to research on the topic and I wrote 42 versions of the script before being satisfied with the one I have now. But, while writing the tale, it was always Shivatmika I wanted to cast in the role because she exudes the kind of grace required to pull it off.”

Dorasani is being bankrolled by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy and Yash Rangineni. The technical crew of this flick include Prashanth Vihari for music and Navin Nooli for editing. The story of Dorasani will be completely in the Telangana dialect.
