Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar has teamed up with several ace directors in his long career while veteran director Yogaraj Bhat has directed many stars in his illustrious career. However, the two stalwarts have not gotten an opportunity to work together till date.

Now it looks like the long-time wish of movie buffs waiting for this to happen will finally come to an end in a few months. Yogaraj is in the process of preparing a script for Shiva Rajkumar and the project may start rolling later his year.

On the project, the director told Times of India in an interview, “Shivanna has an exemplary body of work behind him and has been part of several iconic films. He has a larger-than-life image among Kannada film audiences, so coming up with suitable content to make a film with him is challenging. I had been working on something for a while and recently when I met him after the Tagaru 125-day celebrations he okayed the project.”

Yogaraj went on to add, “One of the trademark elements of my films is the dialogues, which have a certain humour-laced flavour. When music director Harikrishna and I were guests on a TV programme hosted by Shivanna, he had said that he wanted a chance to mouth such lines. It is now working out. Our film will be an action flick, and will see the actor as a common man, albeit in a never-before-seen avatar. I have worked on the script to ensure that the portrayal of his character onscreen is novel. V Harikrishna has been roped in for the music and we are looking at Deepavali for the official launch. A title announcement may happen around Shivanna’s birthday in July.”

Shiva Rajkumar is expecting the release of his multi starrer The Villain, in which he shares screen space with Sudeep. He also has Kavacha, Rustum, SRK and Drona in his kitty.
