One of the most anticipated films of the year in Sandalwood, The Villain is expected to hit the marquee on September 27. Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released on September 13 to coincide with the Ganesh Chathurthi festival but some delays in the production led to its postponement, say sources. Reports say that the film has been censored and is ready for release with speculations being that it would be on the 27th of this month. However, we need to wait for an official word on it.
Directed by Jogi Prem, The Villain has Shiva Rajkumar and Kiccha Sudeep sharing the screen space for the first time in their career. Touted to be an action thriller, the film is being bankrolled by CR Manohar under his banner Taanvi – Shaavi Films on a huge budget. While Amy Jackson plays the female lead in this film, the star cast also includes Mithun Chakraborty, Mukul Dev, Srikanth, Sruthi Hariharan and Radhika Chetan in supporting roles.
On completing the shooting, the film’s director has been quoted by The New Indian Express as saying, “We will break the pumpkin, which signifies the end of shooting process on Sunday midnight when we are done with the song.” The technical crew of the film includes Arjun Janya for music and Girish R Gowda for cinematography. A major portion of The Villain has been shot abroad and it will be a visual treat for the film buffs. Also, Shiva Rajkumar will be appearing in a new get-up in this flick.
With the film’s release date being worked out and official announcement on the cards soon, both Shivanna and Sudeep’s fans are waiting in anticipation to see their idols on the silver screens. Also, The Villain will mark Amy Jackson’s debut in the Kannada film industry.
