Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar’s next film release will be Kavacha. The film is in the post-production stage and its release date is expected to be officially announced soon. Kavacha, which is directed by GVR Vasu, is bankrolled by MVV Sathyanarayanan under the banner Hayagriva Movie Adishtana. Kruthika Jayakumar plays the lead opposite Shiva Rajkumar. The star cast also includes Isha Koppikar, Baby Meenakshi and Vasishta N Simha in pivotal roles. Rahul Shrivastav is cranking the camera for the film and the music is composed by Arjun Janya.
A remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Oppam, Shiva Rajkumar will appear as a blind man in this movie. It was supposed to release late last year, then January 18 was said to be the release date but now it looks like the release has been postponed yet again. The wait for the film’s release date will continue till an official announcement is made.
Meanwhile, the star is busy with Rustum, a Ravi Varma directorial. The film is produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines. Shraddha Srinath has been roped in to play the woman lead and Mayuri will be seen as Shiva Rajkumar’s sister. Touted to be a romantic action entertainer, Rustum will mark the directorial debut of ace stunt master Ravi Varma. Anoop Seelin is scoring the music for this movie and Mahendra Simha is wielding the camera.
Besides these films, Shivanna also has SRK and Drona in his kitty waiting for release this year. And now we hear that the star has signed another project. To be directed by AP Arjun, the film has been titled Royal In Field. The shooting for this entertainer will begin in July this year, say sources. In the meantime, the director will be completing KISS, the shooting of which is currently underway. Sources in the know say that the prep work for Royal In Field is also going on simultaneously.
