Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar will be the first among Sandalwood stars to enter the digital media platform. The star himself made the announcement recently in a media interaction. He has been quoted by Cinema Express as saying, “Our production house, Sree Muthu Cine Services, which is handled by my daughter Niveditha, is already into making web series, and has completed the shoot for Hate You Romeo and Honey Moon. This OTT platform is a new experience, and I thought it’s time for me to try something in the digital arena.”
He further said, “We plan to go with the title Omkara, as it is the beginning of all new things. An official announcement will be made at the right time.”
Meanwhile, the star’s Rustum is gearing up for release on June 28. Directed by stunt master Ravi Varma, the film is produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines. Shraddha Srinath has been roped in to play the female lead in it while Mayuri will be seen as Shiva Rajkumar’s sister. Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi will be seen playing an important role in this flick.
On making his Kannada debut, Vivek Oberoi said in an interview that Shiva Rajkumar wanted to cast him in a Kannada film when he was 18 years old but he could not take up the offer as he was about to pursue higher studies abroad. But when the offer came up again after all these years, Vivek felt that it was not something that he should let go easily.
Rustum will have Anoop Seelin scoring the music and Mahendra Simha wielding the camera. According to reports, Shiva Rajkumar plays a cop in this flick and will be sporting a new look. Touted to be an action entertainer, fans can expect to see some daredevil stunts in the film.
