Dhruv, son of the national award winning actor Vikram, is all set to make his acting debut with the film titled Varma. Directed by Bala, it is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. The Telugu version starred Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles.

Dhruv plays a young doctor with anger management issues in the film. Incidentally, Dhruv’s father Vikram got a break in his career by starring in the Bala directorial Sethu, which went on to win him the national award for best acting.

With Dhruv’s debut film in the making, we hear reports that he is getting ready for his next project which will be a bilingual. The film will be helmed by director Shekar Kammula and the groundwork for it has already begun. The actor is expected to join the sets of this romantic drama after he finishes shooting for Varma. The film is believed to be a dance-based flick.

"Kammula was impressed with the looks of Dhruv and was convinced that the 22-year-old would bring in a lot of freshness to the film. Vikram was also looking for a seasoned director who can give a perfect launch pad for his heir. The discussions were fruitful and the duo has reached an agreement in principle to introduce Dhruv in Telugu cinema with this film that revolves around dance,” sources told the Indian Express.

Shekar Kammula made his directorial debut in the year 1999 with the Telugu - English bilingual Dollar Dreams. He won the Indira Gandhi Award for best debut film of a director – Golden Lotus Award for the film. He then went on to direct movies such as Anand, Happy Days, and Life is Beautiful. His last film released was Fidaa, which hit the marquee in February this year and was a blockbuster hit.

He made his debut in the Tamil film industry with the 2014 release Nee Enge En Anbe that had Nayanthara in the lead role.

With Dhruv getting to work with two national award winning directors very early in his career, movie buffs are hopeful that his acting talents will be tapped very early on.
