The BJP MP from Patna Sahib and famed actor Shatrughan Sinha hasn’t been seen actively campaigning for his party for the ongoing legislative elections despite his celebrity status.

Coming clean on the matter, and causing uneasiness to the party, the veteran leader tweeted, “My party workers, friends, supporters and well-wishers wonder why I am not seen on the campaign trail....I assure them it is not by choice.”

The leader wasn’t shy to blame his absence on local leaders.

He tweeted, “Been kept out thanks to insecure local leaders who we know very well..who have fed matter of convenience stories to the party leaders...”

Taking a cue from the opposition's jibe of Bihari versus bahari (outsider) as the current election rallying is centred around Modi, Singh vented, “Not a question of Bihari vs Bahari..but of how your own Bihari (Babu) has been treated by own people for no fault...”

However, displaying loyalty to the party, Sinha tweeted that he wants BJP to come to power for the larger interest of Bihar and its citizens.

This is not the first time that the former cabinet minister had gone against the party line. Earlier on July, the leader met political opponent and CM of Bihar, Nitish Kumar and called him ‘Guardian of the state’.
