It was reported that the Mollywood actor Shane Nigam will be debuting in the Tamil film industry with the Seenu Ramasamy directorial. An update about this film is that it has been titled Spa. Also, we get to hear that Shane Nigam will be playing a Sri Lankan Tamil in it and will be speaking that dialect throughout the film. Spa is a film about the Sri Lankan youth falling in love with the Tamil-speaking heroine working in a spa. 

While Spa is taking shape, Seenu Ramasamy is gearing up for the release of Maamanithan. The film has Vijay Sethupathi in the lead with Gayathrie S as his lead pair. Manasvi, who was seen in Imaikka Nodigal, will apparently be playing the couple’s child. The cast also has Guru Somasundaram and Shaji Chen playing pivotal roles. 

Maamanithan has music by maestro Ilayaraja and his sons Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja. It is bankrolled by Yuvan Shankar Raja under his banner YSR Productions, K Productions and Vasan Movies and happens to be his second production venture after Pyaar Prema Kadhal.

Shane Nigam’s last film release was Olu. It is a fantasy film directed by Shaji N Karun and written by TD Ramakrishnan. The film has Esther Anil playing the female lead, while others like Indrans, Kani Kusruti and Radhika played supporting characters. Olu, which was produced by A V Anoop, was one of the 28 films considered for the Oscar entry from India. It was the opening film at the 49th International Film Festival of India last year. It was also screened at a few other major film festivals before its theatrical release in India. Shane Nigam is currently busy with Valiya Perunal, directed by Dimal Dennies. This film is in the post-production stage. He is also shooting for another Malayalam film titled Ullasam, directed by Jeevan Jojo.
