Shane Nigam, who is winning a lot of praise for his portrayal of Bobby in Kumbalangi Nights, is going to appear in the lead role in the movie Veyil. Sharath, who has assisted filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery in movies like Angamaly Diaries and Ee.Ma.Yau will make his directorial debut with Veyil.

Irinjalakuda in Thrissur will form the background of the story, also written by Sharath.

Apart from Shane, actors Suraj Venjarammoodu and Shine Tom Chacko will also be playing important characters in the film. There will also be a bunch of new actors in the film. Sharath's mentor Lijo had introduced 86 new actors through his much-appreciated film Angamaly Diaries.

Music of Veyil will be composed by Pradeep Kumar who has rendered popular songs in Tamil like ‘Mayanadhi’ in Kabali and ‘Kannamma’ in Kaala.

Shane also has a bunch of other films releasing, including Ishq, Valiya Perunnal and Olu. He is also acting in an untitled film.

The young actor is known for appearing in select movies, mostly off beat ones like Kismat that told the real life love story of a Muslim man with an older Hindu Dalit woman (played by Shruthy Menon). He has also worked in Rajeev Ravi movies like Annayum Rasoolum and Kammattipadam. A more mainstream film that he acted in is the 2017 movie C/O Saira Banu with Manju Warrier, where the two appear in a mother-son relationship. After that he played an important role in actor Soubin Shahir’s first directorial Parava. Last year he played lead in B Ajithkumar’s Eeda, opposite Nimisha Sajayan. However, it is in Kumbalangi Nights that the usually mellow actor appeared quite the opposite and won a lot of hearts for his performance as a problematic young man coming from a broken family of four brothers and falling in love with an old schoolmate.
