Actor Vijay Devarakonda’s turning point in his career came with the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The film was critically acclaimed and so was his acting. Devarakonda played the titular role of an angry young man. The movie was a blockbuster hit following which its remake rights in different languages were sold out like hot cakes.

While in the Hindi version Shahid Kapoor is reprising the role done by Vijay Devarakonda, it will be Vikram’s son Dhruv in the Tamil remake. The Tamil version, titled Varma, is being directed by the award-winning director Bala.

In an interview to the Times of India, Vijay Devarakonda has said that he is curious to know about Shahid’s performance in the Hindi version. “Both in the Hindi and Tamil version, I am really looking forward to seeing them because it is really cool to see what an actor will do with the same content. I want to see how they have done things differently and how they have read into the same scenes that I did. As an actor, it will be interesting to watch the Hindi film which is directed by the same director Sandeep Vanga,” said Devarakonda.

Tara Sutaria will be reprising the role done by Shalini Pandey in the original version. According to reports, she will be making her acting debut with Student of the Year 2.

Arjun Reddy, written and directed by Sandeep Vanga, was produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga. The film was made on a budget of Rs 5 crore and went on to collect Rs 50 crores at the box office.
