Ever since it was announced that Telugu ‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi’s next film would be a biopic on the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, his fans have been eager to know more.

Fans are really thrilled because Chiranjeevi will be sporting a very different look in Sye Raa, as it is set in the 18th century.

Further, an announcement about the star cast and technical crew of this biopic went on create ripples in the Telugu film industry as only the best found their way into the project.

However, there seems to be major setback now with cinematographer Ravi Verman opting out.

Though the exact reason for his ouster is not known, sources confirm that he has been replaced by Ratnavelu.

Incidentally, Ratnavelu is cranking the camera for Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam right now and will be joining the Sye Raa team next month. It may be noted here that Ram Charan is producing Sye Raa under his home banner Konidela Productions. Set in a different era, a massive set has been constructed in Nanakramguda for Sye Raa’s shooting.

To be made on a big budget costing around Rs. 150 crore and released in languages other than Telugu, Sye Raa has an ensemble of stars in the cast that includes the Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, AR Rahman, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Nasser, Pragya Jaiswal, and Vijay Sethupathi.

Directed by Surendhar Reddy, the film’s technical crew includes the Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman for music, with acclaimed art director Rajeevan helming the art department.

Being a period film, the art director has done a lot of homework to get the correct setting, say sources. The film is expected to go on to the floors next month with its release slotted next year.
