In a time where everyone’s calling for someone’s ouster and most people don’t want to budge, we have with us a brand new list of some of those personalities who seem to have gotten so comfortable in their positions, they just don’t want to move - no matter what.Whether it's grit, courage, or the “I don’t care a damn” attitude, go figure.1. The Karnataka Lokayukta The Lokayukta is an institution that's supposed to act against corruption. In a cruel twist, the Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao has been accused of festering corruption. No one is calling for Lokayukta's resignation based on some officials in his office being corrupt, but the allegations are against his son Ashwin Rao. Phone calls have been traced, his smses have been leaked, and a whistle blower has alleged that the Lokayukta's son asked for bribe to avert a raid. In spite of the opposition trying to move a resolution asking the Lokayukta to resign, at least when his son is being probed, the former judge is holding on. 2. The Madhya Pradesh governorIt’s the mother of all scams, and the Madhya Pradesh governor, Ram Naresh Yadav is in the heart of it.Allegedly involved in making high-profile recommendations for appointments made for forest guards, Yadav's own son Shailesh Yadav, was one of the accused in the scam who died this March in the wake of a string of deaths in the Vyapam scam.Though the governor has stuck to his seat as the murkier details in the scam have surfaced, the Supreme Court has issued him a notice of his alleged involvement. Interestingly, the Home Ministry had reportedly told Yadav to quit in February, 2015 after an FIR was registered in his name in the Vyapam scam. The FIR also mentioned him under Section 420 for cheating. Calls for his resignation have been made from the Congress. However, it appears as if the fate of the MP governor will be decided pending the return of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.3. Pondicherry University Vice-ChancellorIt’s been quite a while since last November, students of a Central University, the Pondicherry University demanded their VC Chandra Krishnamurthy’s ouster following allegations of plagiarism.Accusations of a bogus CV : In addition to major portions of one of her books copied verbatim from other papers, two other books mentioned in her CV were never published in the first place. The issue intensified this April when more than 200 faculty members of the university picketed outside her office over alleged academic violations. It was later revealed that even her appointment (made by the President of India) violated basic UGC guidelines.Though a fact finding report was submitted to the MHRD three months ago, no word on it has been received so far. The teaching and non-teaching staff of Pondicherry University have taken their dharna all the way to New Delhi demanding just one thing – the immediate removal of the VC, Chandra Krishnamurthy.4. FTII chairmanMost popularly remembered for his role as Yudhisthir in the mega-epic TV show,”Mahabharata”, Gajendra Chauhan’s appointment as the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) chairman last month has not gone down well with the institute’s students.With suspension of classes, protests demanding his replacement have crossed its 28th day.More and more film personalities including Anupam Kher, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Ranbir Kapoor, Resul Pookuty have lent their voices in support of the students.The latest to call for Chauhan to resign and also advising him that if one is being so openly opposed they should voluntarily resign, is actor Rishi Kapoor.FTII chairman, Gajendra Chauhan, on the other hand, has said that he was fit for the job, and would only step down if the government told him to do so.Talk about being adamant. 5. Finance Minister of KeralaIn the last few months, KM Mani has been facing a volley of allegations. So the vigilance department, under the minister, dutifully probed and gave him a clean chit.
