Kannada actor Yash is basking in glory over this recent hit film KGF turning out to be a mega grosser. Following its success, the actor is gearing up for its sequel. The second part, titled KGF: Chapter 2, went on the floors today with a traditional pooja earlier this month.

On this, Yash had said in an interview, “We will go on the floors at the end of April or the beginning of May. We’ve locked in the script and it’s now in pre-production. The scale of presentation this time would be much higher. Now that KGF is a recognisable brand, we have huge expectations to live up to. Not that, we were any less careful in the first part. Only technically this time, we need to be a little more sophisticated. There are a couple of very complex action scenes in the sequel. For this, we may get help from foreign technicians.”

On tapping the international market, Yash had said, “The first part too penetrated the international market, though not as much as we would have liked. This time, we hope to be better equipped to make inroads abroad. Lots of foreigners have watched KGF. I am sure we will come up with a world-class film.”

Earlier, Yash had told that KGF had changed the perception about Sandalwood completely. KGF: Chapter 1 is directed by Prashanth Neel, who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues. Vijay Kiragandur produced the project under his banner Hombale Films. The film has Yash playing the lead role and paired opposite him is Srinidhi Shetty as the heroine.

The technical team comprises music director Ravi Basrur, cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, and art director Shivakumar. The rest of the star cast includes Achyuth Kumar, Nassar, Anant Nag and Vasishta N. Simha. KGF was released not only in Kannada but in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi as well, and was well received in all languages.

Following the runaway success of KGF, which emerged as the first Kannada film to breach the Rs 200 crore club worldwide, the hype for KGF: Chapter 2 has reached unprecedented levels.
