Sasi Kumar and director Ponram are teaming up for a film and the prep work for it is currently on with the shooting expected to begin soon. On the title chosen for this film, we hear that it is MGR Magan.
However, there is no official word on it yet. Veteran actor Sathyaraj has been roped in to play an important role in this flick. Director Ponram had made his directorial debut with the Siva Karthikeyan starrer Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam which also had Sathyaraj in a pivotal role.
On the other hand, Sasi Kumar has Naa Naa under production. The first look of the actor-filmmaker Sasi Kumar’s upcoming film Naa Naa was released a couple of months ago and looks intriguing.
The first look showed Sasi Kumar peeling off a mask and makes one wonder what the story is all about. Naa Naa, which is the abbreviated form of Naan Naarayanan, is touted to be an action-adventure with the city background.
The film has veteran actor Sarath Kumar in a pivotal role and well-known director Bharathiraja playing Sasi Kumar’s father in it. Naa Naa is directed by NV Nirmal of Salim fame and is bankrolled by PK Ram Mohan under his banner Kalpataru Pictures. The technical crew of this film includes Ganesh Chandra for cinematography and Harshwardhan Rameshwar for music.
While Naa Naa is under progress, Sasi Kumar also has Naadodigal 2 with Samuthirakani. The shooting of Naadodigal 2 has been wrapped up recently, confirm the film unit. Reports are that Naadodigal 2 will have no connection with the prequel but will be based on love and friendship just like it.
Sasi Kumar’s character has been inspired by social reformer Jeevanandam and Anjali’s character is inspired by Sengodi, the woman who died protesting against the death sentences given to Rajiv Gandhi assassination convicts.
