Actor Vijay's Sarkar directed by AR Murugadoss recently went through the censor formalities and was awarded a clean U/A certificate by the censor board. Confirming the same the makers have shared a new poster of the movie with U/A tag on their official social media pages of Sun Pictures.

The film is scheduled to be a Deepavali release this year and its post-production and promos are happening at a breakneck speed right now. Initially, There were reports on social media that the film might be preponed for release and will release on November 2, but the makers took it to Twitter and confirmed the release date. 

Recently, writer Varun Rajendran had stated that Murugadoss’s Sarkar is a copy of his work titled 'Sengol', which he had registered with the Writer’s Union in 2007. Initially, Varun had filed a complaint with the writer's union and later approached the Madras High Court.

In his petition, he had requested the court for a ban on the film’s release until he’s given his due credits along with a remuneration of Rs 30 lakh for his story. On Thursday Justice M Sundar who heard Varun’s petition has asked the film’s director AR Murugadoss and producers Sun Pictures to file their response by October 30 and added that until then, he cannot ban the film.

The film has two female leads – Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar – in the star cast in addition to Arjun Sarja, Prem Kumar, Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, and Pala Karuppiah. Bankrolled by Kalanidhi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures, Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman is scoring music for this magnum opus with lyricist Vivek penning the lyrics, Girish Gangadharan wielding the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.
