Director Santhosh P Jayakumar's next Theemai Dhaan Vellum produced by KE Gnanavel Raja and starring Gautham Karthik was announced some time ago but has been put in the back burner as there are some creative differences between the director and the production house. Recently there were reports that project which was planned to go on floors by the end of May has been shelved.

Reacting to the reports, Director Santhosh clarified saying that the project is not shelved, but it will be produced by a new production house. In an interview to in.com, director Santhosh said,"The project has not been dropped. I am definitely making this movie but with a different production house. Also, the cast is being revamped and an official announcement will happen soon. We expect to begin shooting by the end of May or the first week of June!"

Meanwhile, the production house will be making use of Gautham Karthik’s dates for a multi starrer and the details about this are expected to be revealed soon. Incidentally, Gautham Karthik had worked with Santhosh Jayakumar in two films – Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kutthu and Theemai Dhaan Vellum was supposed to be third venture together until it was shelved.

Gautham Karthik is currently expecting the release of Devarattam an upcoming Tamil action film directed by M Muthaiah. The film is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green and stars Manjima Mohan as the female lead with Soori as the main comedian.

Those in the supporting roles include Ramdoss, Bose Venkat, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Rajkiran, Jagapathi Babu, Rahul Dev and Singampuli. The film's soundtrack is composed by Nivas K Prasanna with Sakthi Saravanan cranking the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.

Santhosh Jayakumar, following the success of Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kutthu with Gautham Karthik in the lead made Ghajinikanth with Arya and Sayyeshaa which was bankrolled by  KE Gananvel Raja under his banner Studio Green.

The film failed to entertain the masses as it received an average review. The Telugu remake of his IAMK hit the screens last month and in comparison to the Tamil original, the Telugu version did not do well at the box office.
