Santhanam is coming out with a new film and unveiled the first look poster online on Thursday. Titled Dagaalty, the poster features Santhanam in a stylish look. The first look has created a lot of expectations among movie buffs.

Dagaalty will be directed by Vijay Anand, an erstwhile associate of director Shankar. The film is bankrolled by SP Chowdhary’s 18 Reels in association with Santhanam’s Handmade Films. Rittika Sen has been roped in to play the female lead in this flick with Yogi Babu onboard as comedian. Dagaalty has music by Vijay Narain and cinematography by Dipak Kumar Padhy.

Santhanam currently has A1: Accused No. 1 under production. It is written and directed by debutant Johnson who won the Naalaya Iyakkunar title in season 2. The film stars Santhanam and Tara Alisha Berry in the lead roles. Santhosh Narayanan is composing the music for this flick with cinematography done by Gopi Jagadeeswaran and editing by Leo John Paul. The film’s star cast also includes Motta Rajendran, Yatin Karyekar, Saikumar, MS Bhaskar, Swaminathan and Lollu Sabha Manohar.

The comedian turned hero also has films such as Server Sundaram, Oodi Oodi Uzhaikanum and Mannavan Vanthanadi in his kitty. Unfortunately, all these films have been delayed reportedly due to production issues.

Mannavan Vanthanadi, directed by ace director Selvaraghavan, is a romantic drama starring Santhanam and Aaditi Pohankar as the lead pair. Music for this flick is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the cinematography is by Loganathan, and editing is by GK Prasanna. Reports indicate that there are some legal issues that need to be sorted out before the film hits the marquee.

Santhanam’s last release as hero was Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, which had hit the marquee earlier this year in February. A horror comedy, it was written and directed by Rambhala. The film starred Shritha Sivadas opposite Santhanam, with Rajendran and Urvashi in supporting roles. Shabir had composed the music for this flick with Deepak Kumar Pathy cranking the camera and M Madhavan editing it.
