It was announced that Lust Stories, a popular series on Netflix, will soon get a Telugu version. Four segments in this anthology have been planned and the first segment will have Amala Paul in the lead with Nandini Reddy wielding the megaphone. It was also revealed that the three other segments will be directed by Tharun Bhascker, Sankalp Reddy and Sandeep Vanga.
However, the buzz now is that Sandeep Vanga has moved out of the project. Reports say that the director wasn’t comfortable with the subject. “Initially, they said that it’s about an honour killing, but later they said it is about lust. I told them that I am not comfortable with lust,” Sandeep told Deccan Chronicle on why he is not doing the web series.
Talking about his future projects, Sandeep Vanga said, “I am planning to do a web series in the next 4-5 years, based on some real life incidents. It’s about a group of friends and I know that it can’t be a film because the censor would not give us clearance for it.”
The Hindi version of Lust Stories had Kiara Advani, Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar and Manisha Koirala playing the lead roles in each segment with Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee directing them respectively.
Sandeep Vanga made his directorial debut with Arjun Reddy and went on to direct its Hindi version Kabir Singh. Written and directed by Sandeep, Arjun Reddy was produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga under the banner Bhadrakali Pictures. Starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead, the film also featured Kanchana, Rahul Ramakrishna, Sanjay Swaroop, Kamal Kamaraju, Gopinath Bhat, Jia Sharma, Amit Sharma and Priyadarshi Pullikonda. Radhan composed the music for this flick with Raju Thota wielding the camera and Shashank editing it.
