Sanchita Padukone back in Sandalwood with two new films

One is the Ravi Sagar directorial ‘Muthu Kumara’ and the other is ‘Gadinadu’ that will be directed by Nag Hansur.

Sanchita Padukone’s last Kannada movie release as heroine was Satya Harishchandra, which hit the marquee in 2017 and since then she had not had signed any Kannada film. Busy with films in Tamil, Sanchita has now got an opportunity to work in Sandalwood again. She has been roped in for two Kannada films and they are the Ravi Sagar directorial Muthu Kumara, in which she will be paired opposite Dhanush of Psycho fame. She has also inked a deal to star in another Kannada movie that will be directed by Nag Hansur. The film is titled Gadinadu and she will be sharing screen space with Prabhu Surya, a debutant.

In an interview with The New Indian Express the actor said, “It is every actor’s dream to work in the land she is been born and brought up in, and I am glad that filmmakers are taking notice of us. Wherever we go or whichever language we work in, there’s nothing like being at home.”

Talking about the two films she has signed, Sanchita said, “The story of Gadinadu takes place in Belgaum, while Muthu Kumara will be shot in and around Mysuru. Shooting for both begins in October.”

Sanchita made her acting debut in Sandalwood in 2009 with Ravana and then went to star in the Tamil film Vettaikaran, which had Vijay and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. Her Telugu debut was with the 2013 film Chammak Challo.

The actor had featured in a song in the Kannada film Rambo 2, which made it to the silver screens this year. In the song ‘Elli kan elli kaneno’, five actors – Sruthi Hariharan, Shubha Poonja, Mayuri Kyatari, Sanchita Padukone and Bhavana Rao – who had all paired up with Sharan in the past, made a cameo appearance.

Having signed these two projects, it is expected that Sanchita Padukone will receive more good offers in Sandalwood.
