Though thereās almost a year to go for the next flagship smartphone from the Samsung stable to be released, the rumour mills have already started churning out information on the upcoming Galaxy smartphone.
The significance for Samsung next year is the completion of 10 years of its Galaxy S range of smartphones much like Apple celebrated its 10 years of the iPhones. But it is not the rumours alone based on which reports are emerging. Samsung CEO DJ Koh has himself gone on record that the Samsung Galaxy S10 to be launched next year will witness a number of changes in terms of design and other aspects. However, no details have been shared by him officially.
One change being predicted is that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be sold in many colours and very attractive ones at that. āAmazing coloursā is the word used.
Other changes likely to be incorporated include a 5-camera setup in the rear, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an aspect ratio of 19:9 if one goes by the leaks from some benchmarking sites. The rumours suggest that there may be several variants and the above features may not be common to all variants. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, for example, may be provided only on the premium variants of which there may be 2 and the other variants it may be provided on the sides. Interest will revolve around how the South Korean technology giant is able to take the aspect ratio from 18.5:9 seen on the Galaxy S9 to 19:9.
The display figures leaked also suggest the phone could be a tall one, possibly competing with the iPhone XS with the 6inch+ size. Some earlier rumours had indicated that the new phones next year may be having 3 options in terms of the screen sizes, 5.8 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.4 inches.
