The makers of the Telugu movie Oh Baby are planning to remake it in Hindi, according to close sources. Samatha has played the lead in the Telugu version -- Oh Baby Yentha Sakkagunnave – which is in turn a remake of the Korean movie Miss Granny. The Telugu movie is releasing on July 5.
Speculations are rife that Shraddha Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor have been approached for the Bollywood remake of this female-centric project. If the news is true this remake will mark the re-entry of Suresh Babu into Hindi films after a long break.
The teaser of the Telugu film was out recently and is going viral. From the teaser, it is evident that it is Samantha all the way. The film begins with a narration by veteran actor Lakshmi who then turns young magically to become Samantha, who narrates her life story to Naga Shaurya.
The film is the remake of the South Korean comedy-drama film Miss Granny that was written by Shin Dong-ik, Hong Yun-jeong and Dong Hee-seon and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Na Moon-hee starred as a woman in her 70s who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after having herself photographed at a mysterious photo studio. Samantha is playing the younger version and veteran actor Lakshmi will be playing the senior version, as the first look poster indicates. This Korean film will be remade by director BV Nandhini Reddy. Oh Baby! Yentha Sakkagunnave’s cast also includes Urvashi, Snigdha, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh and Naga Shaurya in important roles. The film is bankrolled by Sunita Tati under the banner People's Media Factory and Suresh Productions. Mickey J Meyer is composing music for this film.
It may be noted here that the first look of Oh Baby was out some days ago and the poster featured Samantha and Lakshmi in the background. This had put an end to all rumors that Samantha will be playing both the young and older versions of the lead character.
