Fresh of the success of Suriya-starrer 24, actress Samantha is on a career, with her last release Theri with Vijay also doing exceptionally well at the box-office. As she awaits the release of Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam, for which she recently completed shooting, and Nithiin’s A…Aa, Samantha has apparently decided to not sign any project for some time as she wants to take a break to and spend time with herself. However, it’s not sure whether she’s planned to go on a holiday or divert her energy into doing something else.
This year, the actress has not signed a single project so far and this makes one wonder what could be the reason. In a recent interview, she had revealed she contemplated quitting acting for good after facing a string of flops in the form of big-ticket films such as Anjaan and 10 Enradhukulla. However, the odds were finally shifted in her favour following the success of Theri, which raked in over INR 100 crore from the ticket window worldwide.
She had also said that she’d like to do heroine-centric scripts a la Nayanthara, and hence, even green-lit the Tamil remake of yet to be released but highly anticipated Kannada thriller, U-Turn, from the director of Lucia.
