The mega star of Tollywood, Chiranjeevi is currently busy with his 151st film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The shooting of the film is currently on with plans to release it next year. Baahubali Star Prabhas's next Sahoo is fast progressing despite some delay in the project taking off. The team recently wrapped 50 days of filming in Abu Dhabi.
There were reports that Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Prabhas’ Saaho may be hitting the screens in August 15 2019, heading for a box office clash. Both these are magnum opuses that are being made on a huge budget. Interestingly, both these are multilingual films.
Sources close to the film told Deccan Chronicle,“Sye Raa is about freedom fighter Narasimha Reddy, so Chiru thought that it would be good to release the film at that time and Prabhas is also eyeing the August 15 date for Saaho. But they don’t want to compete with Chiru, though they will be able to complete the film. If Chiru announces August 15 as his release date, Prabhas would then adjust his film’s release date before or after it.”
The biopic is being bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crore. It has a bevy of stars from different film industries including Amitabh Bachchan who will be seen making a guest appearance as Gosayi Venkanna. The others in the star cast are Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu, Kiccha Sudeep, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. R. Rathnavelu is the cameraman for this film, with A Sreekar Prasad editing it and Amit Trivedi wielding the music baton.
Saaho, directed by Sujeeth, is bankrolled by V. Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner UV Creations on a budget of Rs 300 crores. The film’s star cast also includes Neil Nitin Mukesh, Lal, Arun Vijay, Mandira Bedi, Jackie Shroff, Vennela Kishore, Mahesh Manjrekar and Chunkey Pandey in supporting roles.
While Prabhas plays the male lead in this action entertainer, sharing the screen space with him as his heroine is Shraddha Kapoor. The technical crew of this film includes Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy for composing music with R Madhi cranking the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing. The shooting of this film is expected to be completed next year.
