Actor RK Suresh, who has worked in films such as Thaarai Thappattai and Billa Pandi, is all set to star in the Tamil remake of critically-acclaimed Malayalam thriller Joseph. Suresh will reprise Joju Joseph’s role from the original which was directed by veteran filmmaker Padmakumar. According to a report by Cinema Express, the remake will be directed and Prem Kumar and produced by Bala. It’s tipped to be titled Joseph in Tamil as well and the project is scheduled to go on the floors from November. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised and announced soon.

The Cinema Express report further stated that “Suresh will reportedly sport two looks in the untitled remake and will undergo a physical transformation for the film. It is said that he will be losing 30 kg for one look, while gaining 20 kg for the other”. Joseph, a slow-burning crime thriller, was centered on a retired police officer known for his investigative prowess, who gets unexpectedly into a criminal case. There are reports that actor Jagapathi Babu has been approached for a crucial role in the film. Joseph had a long run in cinemas, despite taking a very slow start at the box-office.

Producer turned Actor RK Suresh made his debut with director Bala's Thaarai Thappattai starring Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, in which he was seen playing the villain. He had later starred as the villain in movies like Marudhu, Sketch and was last seen in the 2018 film Billa Pandi. Suresh currently awaits the release of Sivakarthikeyan-Pandiraj’s Namma Veetu Pillai. Suresh is believed to have signed two projects in the offing and details about these films are yet to be officially revealed.
