RJ Mathukutty is all set to make his directorial debut in the Malayalam film industry. Reports are that he is in talks with Dulquer Salmaan for this project and is yet to get an answer. Interestingly, Dulquer made an announcement recently that he will be bankrolling films under his own banner and it needs to be seen if he will be producing RJ Mathukutty’s film or starring in it.
Mathukutty, who is known for his television shows and interviews of celebrities, has also written dialogues for a movie called You Too, Brutus in 2015. He has also played small roles in films such as Ithihasa and Campus Diary.
Meanwhile, Dulquer’s latest film, Oru Yamandan Premakatha, is running in theatres. A comedy entertainer, this Malayalam film has Samyuktha Menon and Nikhila Vimal sharing the screen space with the lead star besides a host of other actors such as Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan, Bibin and Vishnu Unnikrishnan in pivotal and supporting roles. Debut director BC Noufal wielded the megaphone for this venture with Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George penning the script. The film has been bankrolled by Anto Joseph under his banner.
It may be noted here that Dulquer also has the Bollywood film Zoya Factor right now needing his attention. The film is based on the novel of the same title penned by Anuja Chauhan. It is about an advertising agency executive, Zoya Singh Solanki getting to meet the Indian cricket team and turning out to be their lucky mascot which eventually helps the team to lift the Cricket World Cup in 2011.
Besides these films, Dulquer is expecting the release of two Tamil movies – Vaan and Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal this year. Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal is a romantic film written and directed by Desingh Periyasamy. The film has Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma in the lead roles. Vaan is written and directed by RA Karthik. The film also stars Nivetha Pethuraj, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbanda.
