RJ Balaji, who was seen playing several comedy roles in Tamil film earlier, is all set to make his debut as hero with LKG. The film is set for theatrical release on February 22 in Tamil and Telugu and the latest announcement from the hero is that the film will be released in Karnataka as well on the same day.

Balaji confirmed this through his tweet: “Since our heroine @PriyaAnand is a big star in Kannada films, #LKG will have a big release in Karnataka on Feb 22nd Release by A N K films #LKGFromFeb22.” It may be mentioned here that LKG’s heroine Priya Anand made her debut in Sandalwood a couple of years ago with the Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Raajakumara.

While Sakthi Film Factory will be releasing LKG in Tamil Nadu, the Karnataka distribution rights have been bagged by ANK Films.

RJ Balaji, who is also a well-known cricket commentator, has acted in films such as Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Kaatru Veliyidai, and Thaana Serndha Kootam, which won him accolades.

On his film, RJ Balaji is reported to have told, “The first thing I decided was that it shouldn’t be a spoof film. I wanted to tell a story. The film is the journey of Lalgudi Karuppaiah Gandhi, a small-time politician. And there is definitely a takeaway in this film. I have provided a solution to our political issues.”

In his message to the hard core movie buffs, he had said, “I request everyone to see my film, and rip it apart if they feel so, because this is a product on which they spend their money. Also, I don’t want people to criticise me only in a constructive way. Everyone has their own style and tone, so they can criticise in whatever manner they want to.”
