Katha Sangama is an anthology film comprising seven short films directed by seven directors, including Kiranraj K, Chandrajith Belliappa, Shashi Kumar P, Rahul PK, Jamadagni Manoj, Karan Ananth and Jayashankar A. Seven cinematographers, musicians and editors have worked on the anthology. Katha Sangama features Hariprriya, Rishab Shetty, Kishore, Raj B Shetty, Yagna Shetty, Prakash Belawadi, Avinash, Balaji Manohar, Pramod Shetty, Hari Samasthi and others. Rishab Shetty is said to have created the concept for the film as an ode to late veteran director Puttanna Kanagal, who had directed the hit film of the same title in 1976.

The audio launch of Katha Sangama was held in Bengaluru recently and the audio was unveiled by Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. The audio launch itself was very unique with Puneeth Rajkumar playing the song ‘Irula Chandiranu’ on a gramophone. He was also presented a pic of his late father Dr Rajkumar and of director Puttanna Kanagal, which was the highlight of the event. The music album, according to the filmmakers, was again a tribute to Puttanna Kanagal. Speaking at the event, Puneeth said that Puttanna Kanagal was instrumental in making socially relevant movies during his time and praised the Katha Sangama team for coming up with such a film.

A diploma holder in film direction from the Government Film and TV Institute in Bengaluru, Rishab started off in Sandalwood as an assistant director to AMR Ramesh for the movie Cyanide. Making his acting debut in 2012 in Tuglak, he then played a key role in the 2014 film Ulidavaru Kandante, directed by Rakshit Shetty.
