Director Ram Gopal Varma is known for making countless remarks about various issues and in many instances they have raked up a controversy.
The latest is about Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni, which released on January 12, 2017.
He tweeted:
“Hey @DirKrish Am supremely thrilled to hear my judgement went so right ..Congrats on the roaring talk of #GPSK ..100 Cheers to u nd Balayya… Salute to @DirKrish n Balayya for pushing telugu cinema pride to skies with original content instead of bringing down with borrowed content.. Balayya in his 100th film only seems to have become 150 times more Mega advanced in terms of great cinema #GPSK” (sic).
Besides RGV praising Balaiya’s GPSK, the ’10 years back’ and ‘150 times more Mega’, part of the tweets, seem to refer to Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, who is known as ‘Mega Star’, and also recently released his 150 th film ‘Khaidi No 150’.
This comes shortly after a spat between Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagababu and RGV, which began last week when the former hit out at the Satya director for criticising the megastar's movie at a pre-release event of Chiranjeevi’s 150th movie Khaidi no 150.
Nagababu even called RGV a ‘moron’ and asked him to mind his own business
Not one to remain silent, RGV took to Twitter and lashed out at Nagababu, calling him 'incompetent'. He also did not forget to blame Nagababu for the loss of Praja Rajyam, Chiranjeevi's political party.
While Chiranjeevi initially played down the issue stating that RGV was "one of my good friends", he elaborated on the subject in one of his later interviews, even suggesting that the director might need mental help.
“Does he do it for comedy? Doesn't he feel that it’s irresponsible? He should reflect on it. I don't understand the logic behind it. He keeps making such sarcastic comments. RGV is a genius. He is a good person. But when he does this, his stature falls,” he told a local Telugu channel.
“His nature is such that, maybe we should show him to a psychologist,” he remarked with a smile.
