A few weeks earlier, the makers of the Mahesh Babu starrer, Spyder announced that the film will hit the silver screens on June 23.

Further, the first look of the film was released amidst a lot of expectations along with the title just a few days ago indicating that it is getting ready for release.

However, news out of the blue that Spyder’s release has been postponed to August came in as a shock to many of the actor’s fans.

Sources say that the filmmakers came to know that the climax they had planned for the film closely resembled the recently released Kavan, and they decided to tweak it a bit.

Director AR Murugadoss, after consulting Mahesh Babu and the producers, decided to change the climax.

It is said that the star is pleased with the changes and has agreed to cooperate with the director.

Following this decision, the director will be re-shooting the climax portions. It is said that the climax will be shot from May first week onwards. This is touted to be the reason for the filmmakers postponing the release of this magnum opus.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Spyder is being made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The film will mark Mahesh Babu’s debut in Tollywood.

Further, plans are on to dub the film in Malayalam and release it in Kerala.

The film is a spy thriller that has Mahesh Babu playing an intelligence officer, and Rakul Preet Singh playing his lead pair. Bharath, SJ Suryah and RJ Balaji are also included in the star cast.

Harris Jayaraj has composed tunes for this flick with Santosh Sivan cranking the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.

Produced by NV Prasad’s NVR Cinemas, it is touted to be one of the most expensive films to be made in the recent times.
