Vijay Deverakonda, who shot to limelight with his mega hit film Arjun Reddy, has a bunch of movies in various stages of production. Vijay’s next, titled Geetha Govindam being helmed by director Parasuram, is currently in post-production mode. Kannada actor Rashmika Mandanna is playing the lead opposite Vijay.
Touted to be a new age romantic comedy, the makers of the film on Monday unveiled a new poster featuring Vijay and Rashmika. In the poster Vijay is seen staring furtively at Rashmika and she is seen giving Vijay a stern look. The poster also revealed the release date of the film. The film is slated for release on August 15.

Geetha Govindam is bankrolled by Bunny Vas and producer Allu Aravind of Geetha Arts will present the film. Composer Gopi Sundar is overseeing the music department of the project.
Geetha Govindam will be Rashmika’s second Telugu film after her recent debut. Rashmika forayed into the Telugu film industry with the Naga Shaurya starrer Chalo, which catapulted her to instant fame. A romantic comedy, it also did well at the box office. In the film she played the role of a college goer and dubbed her own lines.
Vijay’s last outing Mahanati, a biopic on the life of yesteryear actor Savitri, was a huge success. He was seen playing a journalist along with Samantha, who set out to piece together the story of Savitri’s life.
Vijay Deverakonda’s other film Taxiwala, billed as a supernatural thriller, is currently under post production work and will hit the screens next month. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, this film is bankrolled by GA2 Pictures production house. The actor will be seen playing a cab driver in the film.
Vijay is all set to make his Tamil debut with director Anand Shankar’s film titled NOTA, which is bankrolled by Studio Green. He will be playing a politician in this action thriller while Mehreen will play his love interest.
