Reports indicate that the Nivin Pauly and Trisha starrer Hey Jude is getting ready to hit the marquee on February 2. The film has reached the final stages of production and the promos are happening in full swing.
While Nivin Pauly plays the lead role in the movie, it will mark Trisha’s entry into the Malayalam film industry. Despite being in the film industry for well over a decade and half, this is the first time she will be seen in a Malayalam movie.
Directed by ace filmmaker Shyamaprasad, Hey Jude is bankrolled by Anil Kumar. While Nivin Pauly plays the titular role, Trisha will be seen as Crystal Ann Chakaraparambu aka Crys. Others in the star cast include Siddique, Neena Kurup, Vijay Menon and Aju Varghese.
The songs for the movie have been composed by Rahul Raj, Ouseppachan, M Jayachandran and Gopi Sunder, with Ouseppachan working on the background score. Girish Gangadharan has cranked the camera for this venture and Karthik Jogesh is the editor.
The teaser for the Aa Akashame song from the movie was released recently. The catchy song gives us more than a hint of what the film will be about.
Shot extensively in Kochi and Goa, the film has Trisha playing a Goan girl. According to director, Hey Jude is a musical romance and Nivin’s role in it is very peculiar.
In an interview given to the Times of India earlier, Shyamaprasad had said, “Nivin plays Jude, who is a peculiar character and is at odds with the world around him. Trisha’s character Crystal lives in Goa and, like Jude, is a bit of an oddball herself. The movie is about the interesting situations that happen because of their relationship, and how love and understanding transforms Jude’s life.”
After 15 years in the Tamil and Telugu industry, Trisha finally takes on Malayalam with Hey Jude and the actor claims this is one of her most special films.
While reports indicate that Hey Jude is slated to release on February 2, we are waiting for an official confirmation on this.
