Release date for Mohanlal’s ‘Neerali’ announced

The Mohanlal starrer Neerali will hit the marquee in June this year, confirm sources.

The shooting for the film commenced in January this year and the team wrapped it up within 40 days. Neerali has gone into the post-production mode now and will be out in theatres on June 14. Touted to be a thriller, the film is set in Pune and Sri Lanka, where major portions were filmed.

Directed by Ajoy Varma, the film is bankrolled by Santhosh T Kuruvilla, John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikadan under the banner Moonshot Entertainments. Mohanlal, according to reports, plays a gemmologist in the film and Nadhiya will be seen playing his wife. The others in the star cast of this thriller include Parvatii Nair, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, Dileesh Pothan, Nassar and Megha Mathew.

The music for this venture has been scored by Stephen Devassy while the background score has been done by Ronnie Raphael. On the film’s progress, music director Stephen Devassy had posted on his Facebook page: “Recording of the movie Neeraali!!! Laalettan sang a song after 5 years. It’s a privilege for me to do the music for his movie where he is singing one song with Shreya Ghoshal. Pic with the producers and my friends Santhosh and John, Director Ajoy Varma. Please wait for the song to release.”

Santosh Thundiyil is the cinematographer for Neerali while director Ajoy Varma is taking care of the editing. The rest of the technical crew involved in the film include Sunil Rodriguez who is choreographing the action sequences, Serena Tixeria for makeup, Himanshi Nijhawan for costume designing and Udai Prakash Singh for erecting the sets.

With the Neerali release date being revealed officially, Mohanlal’s fans are waiting eagerly to catch it in the theatres.
