Amala Paul starrer Aadai, which created quite an impact with its teaser, will hit the screens on July 19, its makers announced via a poster on Saturday. Amala took to Twitter to announce the release date and she wrote: “I’ll fight. I’ll survive. Let obstacles come, big or small. I’ll shine, I’ll stand tall. Crush them to bits and blow away the dust. My strength is the only thing I trust. For freedom and happiness combined I thrive because if you have will, then no can fail. Well, this is just me, it’s my tale.”

Directed by Rathna Kumar, Aadai is believed to be a survival thriller. The teaser showed us that Amala Paul’s character is stripped bare and held captive in an abandoned building and the story is about her survival.

The film, which has music by Pradeep Kumar, also stars Sriranjani and she plays Amala’s mother. Popular VJ Ramya Subramaniam, who was recently seen in a brief role in Game Over, is also part of this project. The teaser of Aadai was released by filmmaker Karan Johar and he praised Amala for taking up such a gutsy role.

Amala Paul, who was last seen in serial killer thriller Raatsasan, hasn’t signed any new Tamil projects in a while. Apart from Aadai, she also awaits the release of Adho Andha Paravai Pola, an action-based script which features her in a role unlike anything she’s done so far in her career.

There are also reports that Amala might have landed an important role in Mani Ratnam’s film adaptation of Ponniyin Selvan. She also awaits the release of her first Hindi film which also stars Arjun Rampal. In Malayalam, Amala has director Blessy’s Aadujeevitham in the pipeline.
