Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married at picturesque Villa del Balbianello in Northern Italy in a traditional Konkani-style wedding on Wednesday afternoon. Reports state that the ceremony was intimate, with around 30-40 people in attendance, including members of the couple’s family and friends.

Deepika and Ranveer were both dressed by celebrity designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, according to reports. No pictures of the ceremony or the wedding have been shared on social media yet, as the couple has reportedly imposed a no-photos policy on their guests, wanting to be the first to share the pictures.

The couple was showered with congratulatory messages after the ceremony was over.

The wedding festivities kicked off on Tuesday with a grand sangeet at Casta Diva, a luxury resort in village Blevio in Lake Como. Ranveer, the groom made a grand entry, singing the song Tune Maari Entriyaan from his film Gunday, presumably about how his wife-to-be makes his heart flutter. The sangeet included old Hindi classics as well as wedding favourites such as Mehendi Hai Rachne Wali, Gur Naal Ishq Mitha and Kala Shaka La.

Ranveer and Deepika dated for six years before getting hitched, and the occasion is sure to be an emotional one for the couple and their loved ones. In fact, Deepika reportedly got emotional and broke down during her mehendi ceremony as singer Shubha Mudgal was performing a thumri. She smiled again when Ranveer comforted her with a hug. “He ensured she was smiling again with all his crazy love antics,” a wedding guest told Pinkvilla.

The second ceremony, according to Sindhi customs, is scheduled to be held on November 15. The couple will also hold two grand receptions on their return to India – one in Bengaluru on November 21 and the second one at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai on December 1.
