There is a buzz doing rounds that Ravi Teja’s Disco Raja has been put on hold. Apparently, the creative differences between the hero and producers is the cause for this. The production team wanted to bring down costs from Rs 40 crore to Rs 30 crore after some slight changes were made to the script, which did not go well with some others. The shooting has thereby been put on hold according to sources.
The producers are hesitating to provide actor Ravi Teja, the film’s lead, with the original budget allegedly because his last few films have not been doing well at the box office. Sources say that because four of the actor’s films consecutively failed to perform well at the box office, rendering producers skeptical about alloting Rs 40 crore on this project.
Disco Raja is produced by Ram Talluri and directed by Vi Anand of Oka Kshanam and Ekadiki Pothavu Chinnavada fame. According to reports, Disco Raja is a science fiction movie. Three leading ladies Nabha Natesh, Payal Rajput and Priyanka Jawalkar were roped in to share the screen space with Ravi Teja.
Ravi Teja’s last film release was Amar Akbar Anthony, which made it to the silver screens on November 16th last year. Directed by Srinu Vaitla, the movie was bankrolled by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Praveen Marpuri under the banner Mythrie Movie Makers. While Ileana D'Cruz and Ravi Teja played the lead pair, it also starred Vikramjeet Virk, Sunil, Abhimanyu Singh, Sayaji Shinde, Laya, Adithya Menon, Ravi Prakash, Srinivasa Reddy, Vennela Kishore, Raghu Babu, Jaya Prakash Reddy and Bharath Reddy in supporting roles. The film’s technical crew include S Thaman for music, Venkat C Dileep for cinematography and MR Varma for editing. This film bombed at the box office making it imperative for Ravi Teja to now deliver a smash hit.
