After two cases were registered against TV9 former CEO Ravi Prakash for alleged forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy, YSRCP General Secretary and MP Vijaya Sai Reddy lashed out at the media executive in a series of tweets.
Vijaya Sai Reddy, a close aide of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, claimed that there was no atrocity that Ravi Prakash hadn’t committed. Attacking TV9’s tagline, ‘For a better society,’ the YSRCP MP accused Ravi Prakash of being a hypocrite and actively going against the company’s own slogan. He even claimed that the journalist had propagated casteism.
Ravi Prakash was the CEO of Associated Broadcasting Company Pvt Ltd (ABCPL), which runs news channels under the brand name TV9. According to latest reports Ravi Prakash was replaced by Mahendra Mishra, who had been handling the channel’s Karnataka operations.

"Ravi Prakash is a traitor who obstructed the path to ‘a better society.’ Eventually his deeds were exposed and his victims are coming out. His time has now come to an end. Ravi Prakash is one among the ‘ruined missiles’ of Chandrababu Naidu,” Vijaya Sai tweeted on Thursday, suggesting that Ravi was close to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Vijay Sai also alleged that Ravi Prakash had merely pretended to work towards a better society. Instead, he would “telecast defamatory content against religions, highlight spats between business tycoons, and sensationalize petty fights between wife and husband on TV screens. He has ruined the society. While claiming there is no caste, he spread casteism."
The YSRCP MP also stated that because of people like Ravi Prakash, the credibility of Telugu media has been ruined.
The Cyber Crime police of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate registered a case of forgery against Ravi Prakash on April 24 for allegedly forging the signature of Alanda Media Entertainments Pvt Ltd Director Kaushik Rao.
The dispute began after Alanda Media purchased a 90.54% stake in ABCL recently. Ravi Prakash was reportedly opposed to Alanda’s decision to appoint four new directors and allegedly wrote a letter to the board pretending to be its director Kaushik Rao, stating that he did not want to be the company’s director.
The accused were booked under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 469 (forgery for purpose of harming reputation), 471 (using a forged document or electronic record as genuine) and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) and sections 66 and 72 of the Information Technology Act.
The police searched the office of ABCL as well as the residence of Ravi Prakash on Thursday.
Another case was registered against Ravi Prakash, M K V N Murthy (CFO of ABCL) and others on April 30 on a complaint by Kaushik Rao. They were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy and under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
