Rana Daggubati is one of the luckiest actors in India to bag the most enviable roles. The Baahubali actor, who played the menacing villain Bhallaladeva, will soon be playing the lead role in Hiranyakasyapa. The prep work to get this project on to the floors has begun and it will be helmed by director Gunasekar.

Hiranyakasyapa will be bankrolled by Rana’s dad and ace producer D Suresh Babu under his banner Suresh Productions on a budget of Rs 180 crores. Reports are that the shooting will commence next year as Rana is busy with a number of assignments right now.

Speaking about the film, producer Suresh Babu said, “One of the top artistes in India, Mukesh Singh, is drawing mythological places like Vaikuntam and Indralokam as well as Narasimha avatar… It’s not easy to do this film, because everyone knows the subject and there is already an old classic Bhakta Prahlada. So we have to imagine bigger visuals for this film. We are looking for options to start the shoot as we need to erect big sets for the film.”

Earlier, the plan was to shoot Hiranyakasyapa in foreign locations but now it will be shot within India, say sources. Being made on a huge budget, the filmmakers are planning to release it in different Indian languages. With Rana having a wide fan base and a pan Indian appeal, it is indeed a good move!

Besides this film, Rana currently has a number of films in his kitty and will soon be making his debut in Mollywood with the historical Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma: The King of Travancore.

His other films in the pipeline are the Tamil / Telugu bilingual Madai Thiranthu / 1945, Enai Nokki Payum Thotta and the Telugu / Hindi bilingual Haathi Mere Saathi.
