Putting an end to all speculations about his role in the upcoming NTR biopic, Rana Daggubati has confirmed that he will be playing the current Chief Minister of Andhra, N Chandra Babu Naidu, who happens to be NT Rama Rao’s son-in-law as well. The star recently met the CM in preparation for the film and posted on his Twitter handle.

Rana reportedly told in an interview, “For 25 years, I’ve seen Mr Naidu reign as a politician. He has had a great influence on our people and society.”

The star added that he would not copy the Chief Minister to the core but is currently watching videos from t archives that would help him get into the skin of the character easily.

The shooting of the NTR biopic went on floors early last month and is progressing at a good pace. The filmmakers intend to release it for Sankaranthi next year and are working hard to meet the deadline. One of the biggest reasons to have this biopic released for Sankaranthi is that the election code of conduct will come into force later that month and it will not be possible to release the movie until elections.

The biopic is bankrolled by N Balakrishna along with Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri. Director Teja was initially roped in to direct it but he opted out for various reasons and now the project is being helmed by J Krish. The film will be a Sankaranthi release next year and the team is working hard to meet this deadline.

The biopic has NTR’s son and actor N Balakrishna playing his dad on the screen. Bollywood diva Vidya Balan has been roped in to play NTR’s wife Basavatarakam in it. The star cast also comprises Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, Rakul Preet Singh, Jisshu and Kaikala Satyanarayana in pivotal roles.
