Rana Daggubati is basking in glory over two of his films turning out to be big hits this year. While The Ghazi Attack, released earlier this year, was a big hit, his recently released Baahubali: The Conclusion has turned out to be a massive hit. And the star has some interesting line up for projects coming up.

According to latest reports, Rana Daggubati has been approached to play the lead role in a film that is about the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination way back in 1991.

Apparently, Rana will be seen playing the role of the Special Investigation Team head, Dr Karthikeyan in the movie. The former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991 while he was on an election campaign in Sriperumbadur.

The case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation’s Special Investigation Team headed by CBI officer Dr Karthikeyan.

Considering Rana’s pan India appeal post Baahubali's success, the makers of this film feel that he would be the right choice. Further, the film would be made in four languages – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. Sources have it that Rana is keen on starring in this project and has given his nod. An official announcement would be out very soon.

Rana produced the film Bommalata in 2004 but was bitten by the acting bug in the year 2010, when he starred in the Telugu film Leader.

In his short career, Rana has starred in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films. Notable among his projects are the Baahubali series, Rudramadevi, Arrambam, The Ghazi Attack, Bangalore Natkal, Size Zero, and Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. He is currently busy with the Telugu movie Nene Raju Nene Mantri and two Tamil films Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta and Madai Thirandhu.
